The DEVIATION tool in the Evaluate tab allows a detailed look at adjacent surfaces and their respective angles along a selected edge.
Two flat surfaces that are normal to each other would have a 90-degree DEVIATION, but when the geometry is more complex, it is harder to determine the angle. Often, fillets may fail if surface conditions are not met. This is were DEVIATION can help out.
Select the EVALUATE tab, and select DEVIATION (below).
We will investigate the edge defined by the two revolved surfaces below.
Select the required EDGE or EDGES, and the intensity of the DEVIATION results (below).
The DEVIATION arrows show the minimum, maximum and average deviation values (below).
